My Heart is Broken

sculpture-1751658__480

My heart is broken to say the least

I put all my love and heart into one person for so long

Trusting that it would never be released

For once I give it, I give it completely and belong

Yet not knowing there is the slow white lying to a constant steady

That beats you down over and over so you’re not ready

For the trust to be taken and hope to be crushed

As you try and try again thinking it must

Be restored to where it once was for the heart

The heart to survive the betrayal it feels

Becoming weaker and far away from the smart

Love that existed and that seals

The souls to each heart and body

Of the one that is now shoddy

And far away from the way it once was

Just out of reach and leaves you to pause

Asking, “what did I do wrong? Why am I not enough?”

To bring that one back to you and out of the darkness

Causing him to be fake and to bluff

Not himself anymore and living the harshness

That became our life and being so lost

Not knowing what to do to bring us back

I tried and tried with it only being tossed

Back at me as if nothing would disperse the wrack

Of where we had found ourselves

Feeling we had put us on the shelves

For dealing with it later as always

Yet feeling we were in a constant haze

Finally I couldn’t take it any more

I was ready to run out the door

I didn’t know what else to do

So I said I was through

After fighting so hard and for so long

I had a hard time seeing I belonged

In this relationship we no longer connected to

For all the many years we were only continuing to undo

The love we had promised one another was gone

All I could do was look on

To hope for a better life for him if I left

Because in the last few years it was only bereft

He had to find himself again and so did I

The only way to see it was goodbye

So he went his way and I went mine

I pray that we will heal in time

So both our hearts will no longer be broken

But solid and steadfast for trust, love and hoping.

What Can I Be Looking For?

What can I be looking for?

Through the mists of my soul

I take a walk through the fog

Wondering and waiting

For what I do not know

Stepping through the forest

The only light from the moonlight overhead

Sharing it’s mystical impression

Feeling so unreal in it’s perception

I am searching for something or someone

Not sure why or what for

But I continue to move on and glide through

Hoping beyond hope to understand

What can I be looking for?

Gloriously Entwined

In the wee hours of the night

If you look intently you might

See the world of fantasy

Just a glance across a balcony

To be just a moment in time

When you are not sure to find

The glitter and shine of fairy lights

That twinkle around like ice

On trees and flowers around

As Mother Nature touches down

Making a splendid world of imagination

A beautiful magical expression

Transforming all you know

Into a paradise to bestow

All the thoughts and dreams

That have their very own scenes

Into the moon glow of the hourglass sand

Moving through something so grand

As the distant memories of your mind

To find it all gloriously entwined

The Love That Used to Fill My Heart

IMG_4449

The love that used to fill my heart

Is now just a lasting part

Of the past that have fond memories

For the way it all used to be

The first real love that filled me up

That I always thought would windup

My every joy and happiness blessed

I really never would have guessed

There would be a break in my life

To make me feel full of strife

But now I must move on

To other joys and loves beyond

This point I find myself now

For happiness to make I vow

To continue to learn and prosper

And never harvest or foster

The hurt I have felt up to this point

Yet to feel and anoint

Those around me with my joy

And never ever to destroy

I feel this is kind of corny but it is basically what I have been feeling and wanted to get out for now.

Poem, WOTD

Word of the Day – Immature

Hang Out, Plush Toys, Kermit

Oh to be young and immature again

Pretending you are on a train

Heading on to some other world

To feel the excitement of something new unfurled

To imagine you can conquer anything and everything

By just saying it is to be, just as a queen or king

Oh to be as we once were, so pure

So unhindered and immature

Poem, Season

The Reason for the Season

Just wanted to do a little Christmas poem for the season.  I hope you enjoy<3

See the lights on each house front

As we go through on our hunt

For the perfect season idea

Snacking on our yummy tortillas

We see so many that are so pleasing

From nice and light to seriously displeasing

Snowmen, reindeer and Santa Clause

All wrapped in lights, garland and gauze

When finally we come to the one

That can give us and the kids the most fun

With angels, animals and a manger

We definitely are no strangers

To the true meaning of this holiday season

For he is the ultimate reason
